Hack: find "I like it!" sites (Firefox)   11-14>|

I'm not sure is this add this group, but never mind.

I discovery that how to find your liked SU sites in your computer. I think that this works only on Windows, I don't know about Mac and Linux...

1. First, open "Run" (Start -> Run or WIN-button + R), then write into box: %APPDATA%

2. Then find "Mozilla" folder

3. Press "Firefox"

4. Press "Profiles"

5. Press your profile folder ( [some numbers].[name] )

6. Find file called "stumbleratings*****" (stars are random numbers)

7. Open that in Notepad (or something else text-program)

Here you go, there are all your "I like it!"-sites! You can make example shortcut to that file and search all links. Unfortunately there has no name, what site it is, there's only urls. Better option is that you open that file in Notepad++, because:

a) Original Notepad gets heavy, when you open that file, Notepad++ doesn't.

b) Notepad++ add space every url, original Notepad doesn't.

Enjoy and add comments about this hack! :)

Any kind of benign discovery/hacking of SU is welcome here. It's a good tip.

Note that if you use multiple machines, this list might not include sites rated from other machines. I think the toolbar syncs them periodically, but if you rate a site from one machine, it won't immediately appear in the list on another machines.

I have two "sumblerating*****" folders. One has about 10 web addresses and the other has maybe 100. I think that one is mine and one is my wifes, but I have over 6k sites thumbed up.

I did recently re-install SU. Perhaps that is what all of my thumbs aren't there. Thanks for the tip!

Works on a Mac too. ~Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/

But, this will only give you sites that you have thumbed via the given profile. If you have an SU account that is older than your computer, older than your profile, you will only get a list of sites thumbed since the creation of that profile.

If you have more that one computer, then each Fx profile will have only the sites thumbed on that machine.

2: In the last 8 months, sites are not synchronized between my 2 Macs...

stumbleratings********

the stars are your stumbler id, the name of the picture of your avatar is your stumbler id.

For example, mine is 1011156 because cdn.stumble-upon.com/superminipics/1011156.jpg [cdn.stumble-upon.com/superminipics/1011156.jpg]

if you are sharing your Firefox profile with another person you might want to know your stumbler id, and his/her stumbler id, so you can identify each file.

You can also see that number by hovering over the avatar on a user's blog.

...or right-click any avatar right here in a forum thread and select "View Image" from the contextual menu.
