OK Ben! Your suggestion worked. Now all I have to do is transfer my bookmarks, dictionaries, etc. to the new profile with out recreating the original problem. So: 1.) did the "fix" indicate what might have been the problem/s? 2.) can I do a transfer as mentioned above, or need I start all over again?

I started doing a repeat download of the scripts that I was previously using (Thlayli's scripts) & when I installed "StumbleUpon Edit Fix" the problem of saving edit recurred. This may be the source. I know Thlayli is on this group... so I will post this notice here. If need be I can go to his web site.
I sure would like to use that particular script... so if there are workarounds or future fixes, would like to know. |

In other words, as I installed each script, I tested the "Save Changes" to see if this worked (as well as testing to see if the script behaved as promised). That was the only one of the scripts that caused a repeat of the save problem. |

Sponsor | | Thlayli | Mar 3, 7:22am | StumbleUpon Edit Fix has been unsupported for some time. I forgot it could still be downloaded from userscripts.org, as it has been removed from my Add-ons page.
SU fixed the bug it was supposed to correct a while ago, but then it appeared again. I don't especially want to rewrite the script if they can fix it from their end, but I also don't want to be the one complaining about it again.
Let me see how bad a rewrite it would be.
Edit: Nearly impossible. They've made some major changes and it would be magnitudes harder to implement an edit fix script now. I am marking the userscripts.org page as incompatible. Sorry. Raise the issue in Features if you'd like. |
